Welcome to The Knife Art Association

The Australian Knife Art Association was established in 2013 as a not-for-profit organisation, run by members to promote and support custom knife making and makers in Australia. The KAA now successfully holds the largest knife shows throughout Australia, the Australian Blade Symposium and specialist workshops, designed to improve the skills of knifemakers and elevate the art of knifemaking in Australia.

Since its inception, the KAA has been responsible for showcasing custom knives and the Australian knife making community to tens of thousands of people directly through knife shows and even more with our extensive social media groups and advertising campaigns.

The Australian Blade Symposium is an annual event where knifemakers can learn from some of this country’s very best knife makers and bladesmiths, as they share their secrets to creating the perfect knife. In conjunction with the Symposium, the KAA also hosts world class Mastersmiths - each renowned for the quality of their work and specialist skills - to run masterclasses. Previous international guests have included Mastersmiths Bill Bourke, Kevin Cashen, Rodrigo Sfreddo, Kyle Royer, Neels Van Den Berg, Jackson Rumble and J. Neilson.

The KAA itself is a team of dedicated makers and individuals, who are passionate about sharing their love of the art of knifemaking. They work hard to deliver quality and engaging creative events for anyone with an interest in knives or knife making.

The Knife Art Association looks forward to welcoming you to one of our many events soon.
